Starting the first show on Valentine’s Day for StyleWeek was designer Shalyn Webber!
Shalyn Webber is a Boston based up and coming designer who graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Fashion Design in 2011. Her design style favors the inspiration drawn from the harsh contrast in the balance between nature and human interactions. This unique point of view is fleshed out by her choices in textures, colors, and dramatic shapes to mimic the beauty of the natural world. These designs walk a thin line between avant-garde and ready to wear while enhancing the female form.
This season, Shalyn’s collection Interstellar was the talk of the runway, showcasing shiny black leather and neon patters in unexpected textures and shapes. A shiny white coat with pointed shoulders, and a sheer green floor-length tunic made the audience take a trip to outer space and back.
